Our team

Biliteracy With Heart ❤️ and Purpose

Created by Native Spanish Speakers, for Bilingual and Biliterate Children

As a team of native Spanish speakers and expert bilingual educators, we are deeply committed to creating the highest-quality books for bilingual and biliterate children—books where students can see themselves, feel a sense of belonging, and thrive as readers.

We built Hola Books because we saw a gap: too many Spanish resources were English-first translations, and too few reflected the language, culture, and lived experiences of our communities. Our books, resources, and instructional tools are written and designed by native Spanish speakers, grounded in evidence-based instruction and the Science of Reading for Spanish, and intentionally crafted to support strong foundational skills.

At Hola Books, we believe literacy instruction should be both rigorous and affirming.

Honoring students’ identities while giving them the explicit teaching they need to become confident, capable readers.

We are educators at heart. ❤️ Our team of bilingual experts brings decades of classroom experience to every tool or decision we make—from scope and sequence and lesson pacing to corrective feedback and family connections—ensuring our resources are practical, research-based, and ready for today’s classrooms.

Our mission is simple: to nurture a love of reading and build strong language proficiency for bilingual and biliterate children through authentic decodables, rigorous instructional resources, and field-tested professional learning grounded in the Science of Reading for bilingual instruction.
